To qualify for admission to the preschool, a child must be 2 1/2 years old. Applications may be submitted throughout the school year. The San Anselmo Preschool Center admits children regardless of race, creed, or national origin.

Waitlist Policy. Applications will be accepted up to one year in advance of when you would like your child to attend. Current families re-register in the month of March for the upcoming summer and/or fall school year. Remaining slots are filled in the beginning of April with the registration cards received from new families. Registration cards are processed in the order they were received. We will continue to accept registration/waitlist cards until the program starts.

Diaper Policy. We accept up to six children in diapers at a given time. It is easier to get into the program if your child is already trained. Pull-ups are considered "diapers". Potty-trained means wearing underpants and very few accidents.

Registration Policy A non refundable registration fee must accompany your child's application. The registration fee applies per family per year. Summer also requires a deposit which will be applied to your fall tuition. It will be reimbursed if you are not continuing in September as long as you do not reduce your summer schedule.

Please feel free to go to the following page to either apply for admission, or to inquire further about the admission process.

The San Anselmo Preschool Center is open from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. We offer activities in the morning and late afternoon that meet the special needs of children who spend a full day with us. Our intention is to assure working parents that their child is in a secure, clean and warm environment where their individual needs are being met.

The San Anselmo Preschool Center is a non-profit corporation run by a volunteer Board of Directors under the auspices of the First Presbyterian Church of San Anselmo.

The board is composed of parents, past and present, church members and members of the Ross Valley community. The board administers school policies and maintains licensing standards established by the California State Department of Social Services.

The Director implements the policies established by the board and supervises a teaching staff well qualified and trained in early childhood education.

The San Anselmo Preschool Center is located in the heart of San Anselmo at 121 Ross Avenue in the First Presbyterian Church complex. Our site is a spacious, sunny redwood building with an outdoor area for large motor development and a neighborhood rich in natural science adventures.

We welcome parent involvement from each of our families. We require a moderate number of hours per family each year. Parent aides can choose to work in the classroom with the children sharing a special skill or activity, have lunch with the children during staff meetings, or drive on field trips. In addition there are other tasks helpful to the program that can be done outside of the school. The staff love to have parents work with them and the children are very happy when their parents are involved in the program.

Many stores make contributions to SAPS through scrip. There are a number of methods for families to participate in the scrip programs. Paper scrip is available for use at a variety of local stores, as well as electronic scrip. Once you are signed up for the electronic programs, a percentage of the dollars you spend will be automatically donated to the school by the participating store.
